Dosage/Direction for Use
Administration
May be taken with or without food: Preferably taken 1 hr after meals. Dissolve in a glass of cold water.
Special Precautions
Unsuitable for phenylketonurics. Avoid rapid w/drawal. Prolonged use. Monitor cardiac function in patients w/ idiopathic haemochromatosis, thalassaemias. Pregnancy.
Adverse Reactions
Nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps; skin flushing or redness, headache, mild increased urination; diarrhea.
Drug Interactions
Increased urinary Al excretion w/ Al-containing antacids. Interfered absorption w/ aspirin. Enhanced urinary Fe excretion w/ desferrioxamine. Interference in blood & urine creatinine, uric acid & glucose determinations.
